ALERT---
Kenny just called, and said Mik Miano has passed. Has anyone heard anything. Damn, I'm running out of friends.

Re: ALERT---
Biff told me about Mik's passing but no details said Cisnaros might know more.
I'll miss him and know what you mean about full of piss and vinegar. He seemed just like he always was at the reunion.
He left alot of his work behind. I hope we all think of him when we see it.

Why don't more ass holes die off, instead of the Cream of the Crop?

Re: ALERT---
John I would like to know the answer to that one myself. Seems like the lest worthy survive and out breed the more deserving.
I hope the other side is a better place and the good ones learn their lessons the fastest. When they accomplish whatever they are supposed to they move on. But it does leave the rest of us with a link missing in the chain.
When I first met Mik he didn't skate very much. I suppose I had the New Shirt Attitude but really toned it down when I found out he was one of the First 3 (I think it was 3). I will add "He" never brought it to my attention.
That was one of the things about Mik. He would observe till it was time to set it right. If you really didn't want to hear what he thought you better not ask him. Cause he would tell you with no sugar on it. He was always true to himself. I remember the first time I saw some of his work. Back them I couldn't see how he could ever make any money at it. I was stupid and didn't understand Artists do what they want because they want to. If someone else likes it great, if not So What. He never seemed to be working to please others.
From what I knew of him, he didn't live his life to please others. If he said Yes, it was yes. If he said No, it was No. I'm sure from time to time some found him to be a pain in the ass. Mostly cause he wouldn't do what they wanted him to. By and large he was no more difficult to get along with than most of us.
It is very hard to figure out who you. That might be why most don't have a clue and just act the role they think they were assigned. It is even harder to be yourself all the time.
So I Second your RIP

Re: ALERT---
well... it's true... I was hoping for some kinda artist joke, but no. Good bye to a true Master of Metal, Mik Miano. I'm glad I had the opportunity know you, drink with you, skate with you and laughed with you. But we never got to work on a project together. You gave me so much inspiration to my craft and I thank you. I will always remember "nails are glue". Good bye old friend...
I just want to skate! Don't tase me bro!

Re: ALERT---
Pat F. told me friends from far and near gathered to either Morn His Passing or to Celebrate His Life.
How appropriate that so much of his work was present to help hold up those who chose to stand until horizontal overcame vertical.
He will be missed. May his songs be sung around the fire until we all join the silence.
